Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair

REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Using a suitable tool, push the accelerator cable nylon bushing out of the accelerator pedal and shaft arm.
2. Remove the two accelerator pedal and shaft assembly retaining nuts.
3. If replacing the accelerator pedal and shaft and if the vehicle is equipped with a pedal and shaft isolator, uncrimp the isolator and remove from the accelerator pedal and shaft.
4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten accelerator pedal and shaft nuts to 15-20 Nm (11-14 lb ft) and make sure accelerator pedal and shaft has no restrictions.
