Camshaft Rear Bearing Cover

REMOVAL
1. Remove transmission. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
2. Remove flywheel (6375).
3. Remove rear engine plate (7007).
4. Using a sharp chisel or punch and hammer, cut a hole in center of camshaft rear bearing cover (6266).
5. Remove camshaft rear bearing cover using Impact Slide Hammer T59L-100-B or T50T-100-A. The camshaft rear bearing cover can also be pried from bore using a large punch. Use care to prevent damage to camshaft rear bearing cover bore.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Prior to installing a camshaft rear bearing cover, the camshaft rear bearing cover bore should be inspected for any damage that would interfere with proper sealing of the camshaft rear bearing cover. If the bore is damaged, it will be necessary to true the surface by boring for the next specified oversize camshaft rear bearing cover. Oversize camshaft rear bearing covers are identified by the OS stamped in the fiat located on cup side of camshaft rear bearing cover.

1. Apply a light coating of Perfect-Seal Sealing Compound F2AZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specifications ESR-M18P2-A and ESE-M4G115-A to seal camshaft rear bearing cover before installation.
2. Install camshaft rear bearing cover using suitable driver.
3. Install rear engine plate.
4. Install flywheel.
5. Install transmission.
