Input Shaft: Service and Repair

NOTE: The following procedure should be performed only when necessary. After carefully inspecting each subassembly, disassemble only those requiring component replacement or further inspection.





DISASSEMBLY
1. Using a press and Bearing Puller Attachment D79L-4621-A or equivalent, remove bearing from input shaft and discard.





2. Using Collet D80L-100-T and Forcing Screw D80L-100-B from Blind Hole Puller Set D80L-100-A or equivalent, remove input shaft pocket outer bearing race from input shaft.





ASSEMBLY
1. Using Remover/Replacer Tube T75L-7025-B, Bearing Cup Replacer T57L-4621-B and press, install new bearing on input shaft as shown.





2. Using Bearing Cup Replacer T77F-1217-A, Driver Handle D81L-4000-A or equivalent and press, install input shaft pocket outer race into input shaft.
