Headlamp Dimmer Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column shroud retaining screws and remove upper and lower steering column shrouds.
3. Remove wiring connectors.
4. Remove two self-tapping screws retaining multi-function switch to steering column casting. Disengage switch from casting.

INSTALLATION
1. Align multi-function switch mounting holes with corresponding holes in the steering column casting. Install two self-tapping screws making sure to start the screws in the previously tapped holes. Tighten 2-3 Nm (18-26 inch lbs.).
2. Install electrical connector to full engagement.
3. Install upper and lower steering column shrouds with the crews. Tighten to 0.6-1.13 Nm (6-10 inch lbs.).
4. Connect battery ground cable.
5. Check steering column and multi-function switch for proper operation.
