Fog/Driving Lamp Switch: Description and Operation
The fog lamps consist of:^ Two fog lamp assemblies.
^ A fog lamp switch in the console.
^ Circuit wiring and circuit protection.
The fog lamp switch:
^ Is provided power through Circuit 13 (R/BK) from the LO terminal of the multi-function switch.
^ Will only operate the fog lamp when the LO beam headlamps are operating.
^ Supplies power through Circuit 275 (Y) to the energizing coil of the fog lamp relay.
^ With the fog lamp relay contacts closed, allows power from power distribution box fuse Daytime Running Lamp (DRL), fog, horns, (20 A) to flow through Circuit 477 (LB/BK) and the fog lamp relay to circuit 478 (T/O), which feeds the fog lamp.
^ Provides power (in the ON position) to the fog lamp indicator light (integral with the fog lamp switch). Ground for the indicator light is provided through Circuit 57 (BK).
^ is provided ground (along with the fog lamp relay and fog lamp) through Circuit 57 (BK).
With the parking lamps or headlamps on, the fog lamp switch illumination bulb is lit.
