Purge Flow Sensor: Description and Operation






PURPOSE
The Purge Flow Sensor (PFS) is used to:
- check purge solenoid function during the OBD II evaporative emissions test.
- monitor vapor flow through the purge solenoid.
- produce a change in sensor output for a given flow/no-flow condition.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors PFS output voltage.
