General Systems Diagnosis
1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the climate control system to duplicate the condition.2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:
Mechanical
- Loose, missing or damaged A/C compressor drive belt.
- Loose or disconnected A/C clutch.
- Loose, incorrectly routed or damaged vacuum lines.
- Misadjusted A/C temperature cable.
- Discharged A/C system.
- Broken or leaking refrigerant lines.
- Broken or leaking vacuum control motor.
Electrical
- Open fuse.
- Blower motor inoperative.
- A/C compressor inoperative.
- Fan motor inoperative.
- Circuitry open/shorted.
- Manual A/c control or heater control inoperative.
3. If inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. General System Diagnosis
