Piston Pin: Testing and Inspection
1. Check the outside diameter (OD) of the piston pin and record. If not 21.994-21.999 mm (0.8659-0.8661 inch) replace pin.
2. Check the inside diameter (ID) of the pin bore in the piston and record. If not 22.0015-22.004 mm (0.866199-0.866297 inch) replace piston.
3. Check the inside diameter (ID) of the pin bore in the connecting rod and record. If not 21.959-21.979 mm (0.8645-0.8653 inch) replace connecting rod.
4. Replace any piston pin or connecting rod that is not within specification.
5. Subtract the piston's piston pin bore from the piston pin diameter. The difference is the clearance.
Clearance: 0.005-0.010 mm (0.0001968-0.0003937 inch).
6. Subtract the connecting rod's piston pin bore from the piston pin diameter. The difference is the clearance.
Clearance: 0.015-0.040 mm (0.0005905-0.0015748 inch).
7. Replace any component that is not within specification.
