Power Door Lock Actuator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove front door trim panel and watershield.
3. Remove pop rivet retaining power door lock actuator to door. Remove center pin using a small drift punch. The drill out remaining portion of rivet using a drill. Be careful not to enlarge retaining hole in sheet metal.
4. Disconnect wiring at power door lock actuator.
5. Disconnect power door lock actuator from front door latch.
6. Remove power door lock actuator.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect wiring at connectors.
2. Connect power door lock actuator to front door latch.

CAUTION: Make certain that the power door lock actuator boot is not twisted during installation. The pop rivet must be installed with bracket base tight to the inner panel. Failure to do so may result in damage to the power door lock actuator.

3. Install power door lock actuator to front door with pop rivet using Heavy Duty Riveter D80L-23200-A or equivalent.
4. Install watershield and front door trim panel.
5. Reconnect battery ground cable.
