EGR Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VENT SOLENOID
1. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
2. Blow through the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) vent solenoid and verify that air flows.
3. Disconnect the EGR vent solenoid electrical connector.

Vent Solenoid:





4. Apply battery voltage and a ground to the EGR vent solenoid as shown.
5. Blow into the EGR vent solenoid and verify that air does not flow.
6. If results are not as specified, replace the EGR vent solenoid.
