Lower
REMOVAL1. Remove upper intake manifold.
2. Disconnect connectors from fuel manifold and fuel injectors, then disconnect wiring harness and mounting clips.
Intake Manifold Removal Sequence:
3. Loosen then remove intake manifold bolts and stud bolts in sequence shown.
4. Disconnect wiring from Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) controller while lifting intake manifold assembly from engine.
5. Remove fuel manifolds with injectors from intake manifold.
6. Remove RH and LH lower intake manifolds with IMRC from intake manifold, discard all gaskets and load limit spacers.
INSTALLATION
1. Ensure all mating surfaces are clean and free of old adhesive, burrs and gouges.
2. Remove protective backing from adhesive surface of gaskets for lower intake manifolds with IMRC, then position gaskets onto both lower manifolds W/IMRC, ensure correct alignment by using tapered pins of lower manifolds W/IMRC.
3. Install both lower manifolds W/IMRC to intake manifold.
NOTE: Tighten bolts only finger tight at this time.
4. Install fuel injectors and fuel supply manifold to intake manifold.
5. Place new intake manifold gaskets into place on cylinder head, ensure correct location of gasket alignment pins.
6. Guide manifold assembly into position while connecting IMRC wiring.
Lower Intake Manifold Tightening Sequence:
7. Install bolts seven, eight, nine and ten. Do not tighten bolts at this time.
8. Install remaining bolts and stud bolts, then hand tighten all bolts and stud bolts.
9. Tighten bolts and stud bolts to 15-22 ft lb in sequence.
10. Torque lower intake manifold W/IMRC to intake manifold bolts to 5.9-8.8 ft lb.
11. Connect IMRC cables and levers.
12. Connect fuel manifold and fuel injector wiring connectors, then install retaining clips.
13. Install upper intake manifold.
