Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove engine compartment brace from front fender aprons and dash panel.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then drain engine oil.
3. Remove retaining bolts and front subframe crossmember reinforcement, then remove motor mount to front subframe crossover nuts.
4. Remove transmission housing cover, then use suitable safety stand to raise engine approximately four inches and position suitable wood block under crankshaft pulley.
5. Install 2.50-2.75 inch wood blocks under each front engine support insulator, then remove oil pan retaining bolts.
6. Remove oil pan.

NOTE: It may be necessary to adjust engine height several times to get clearance for removal.

7. Reverse procedure to install. Torque oil pan bolts to 15 ft lb in sequence, then tighten an additional 60°.
