Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Loosen the air cleaner outlet tube clamps at both ends of the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Carefully remove the air cleaner outlet tube. A gentle twisting motion will release the tube from its mounting surfaces on the throttle body and on the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
4. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
6. Remove the oil separator hose from the bottom of the filter housing.
7. Remove the two engine air cleaner bolts and one retainer nut.
8. Remove the engine air cleaner from the front fender apron.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the air cleaner outlet tube clamps to 1.4-2.3 Nm (12-20 lb in).

NOTE: Be sure that the engine air cleaner is positioned correctly on the top of the air cleaner intake tube.
