V: Door Ajar Warning Never/Always ON
Pinpoint Test V - Door Ajar Warning Never/Always OnV1 - CHECK ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR WARNINGS
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Wait past prove-out time.
- Check electronic instrument cluster for DOOR AJAR warning to determine whether warning is always on or never on.
Is door ajar warning always on?
YES G0 to V2.
NO G0 to V5.
V2 - Check Door Open Warning Lamp Switches For Short
- The following steps are to be repeated for each door open warning lamp switch. Start with the driver's door, then front passenger's, then rear passenger's door.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF. This resets the warning.
- Disconnect door open warning lamp switch connector at door open warning lamp switch.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Check message center for warning.
- Repeat until no warning is displayed or all door open warning lamp switches are disconnected.
Is warning still displayed?
YES GO to V3.
NO REPLACE damaged door open warning lamp switch. RETEST system.
V3 - Lighting Control Module Check For Short
- Disconnect lighting control module.
Is warning still present?
YES GO to V4.
NO REPLACE lighting control module RETEST system.
V4 - Check Circuit 344 (BK/Y) FOR Short
- Turn ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect electronic instrument cluster.
- Check continuity to ground from connector pin C1-17, circuit 344 (BK/Y) and pin C1-8, circuit 676 (PK/O).
Is continuity to ground present?
YES SERVICE circuit 627 (BK/O) for short to ground. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
No REPLACE electronic instrument cluster. AFFIX odometer sticker to door pillar. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
V5 - Check Circuit 344 (BK/Y) For Open
- Turn ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect electronic instrument cluster.
- Check continuity in circuit 344 (BK/Y) from instrument cluster connector pin C1-17 to driver door module connector pin C2-9.
Is continuity present?
YES REPLACE electronic instrument cluster. AFFIX odometer sticker to door pillar. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE circuit 344 (BK/Y) for open. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
