Inspection and Verification

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the instrument cluster (10849) to duplicate the condition and by observing the indicators and gauges to determine if they are operating properly with the ignition switch:

In RUN with the engine OFF
In START before the ignition switch is released
In RUN with the engine running






2. Inspect to determine if any of the mechanical or electrical concerns fromthe inspection chart apply.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.

4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptoms and go to the Symptom Chart.
