Fuel Return Line: Description and Operation
Fuel System Components:
FUEL FLOW
Fuel is drawn from the fuel tank by a fuel tank-mounted fuel pump. Fuel is then delivered under pressure through the fuel supply line and fuel filter to the fuel injection supply manifold, and then to the fuel injectors. Excess fuel is returned to the fuel tank through the fuel return line. A fuel evaporation pipe is routed from the fuel tank to the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister. All fuel lines run parallel to each other underneath the left side of the vehicle. Fuel pressure is controlled by a fuel pressure regulator mounted at the return side of the fuel injection supply manifold.
