EGR Control Solenoid: Service and Repair

NOTE: The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) control solenoid and vent solenoid are not serviceable separately. If either solenoid requires service, replace the EGR solenoid valve assembly.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: Mark the location of the vacuum hoses prior to removal to ease installation.





2. Remove EGR boost sensor from bracket and set aside.





3. Disconnect the EGR vent and control solenoid electrical connectors.

Vacuum Hoses:





4. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the EGR control solenoid and the EGR vent solenoid.

Solenoid Nuts:





5. Remove the three EGR solenoid assembly nuts.
6. Remove the EGR solenoid assembly.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
