Manual Transmission

The Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch inputs a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM uses this signal to control engine idle speed when the transaxle is in NEUTRAL. The PNP switch also serves as the backup lamp switch.
