Oil Pan: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, raise and support vehicle, then drain crankcase.2. Remove flywheel housing dust cover.
3. Remove exhaust inlet pipe.

4. Remove oil pan to cylinder block attaching bolts, nuts and stiffeners.
5. Remove oil pan from vehicle.
NOTE: If crankshaft interferes with pan removal, it may be necessary to rotate the crankshaft to provide clearance between pan and counterweights.
6. Remove oil pan baffle.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Before installing pan, ensure pan and cylinder block mating surfaces are free from oil and old gasket material.

b. Apply suitable sealer across joint line of cylinder block and front and rear engine covers as shown.
c. Tighten oil pan bolts and nuts to 8-9 Nm (69-78 in lb).
