Console: Description and Operation

The floor console consists of two separate components: the shift console panel and the parking brake console panel. The shift panel contains the gearshift lever boot and a small package tray. The parking brake console panel conceals the mechanism used to apply the parking brake control lever. The parking brake console panel also contains the console panel ash receptacle. Brackets, attached to the floorpan, provide mounting points for both consoles. The front of the shift console panel is also attached to a bracket that is an integral part of the instrument panel.
