Intake Manifold Adaptor Assembly

Charge Air Cooler To Intake Manifold Adapter:

REMOVAL
1. Remove cowl vent screens.

2. Disconnect electrical connection at intake air temperature sensor.

3. Disconnect vacuum lines at charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter.

4. Remove two nuts attaching charge air cooler outlet tube to charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter.

5. Remove EGR transducer.

6. Loosen charge air cooler outlet tube at alternator-power steering pump bracket.

7. Slightly loosen support bracket at front of cylinder block. Allow bracket to pivot during charge air cooler outlet tube installation.

8. Loosen clamp at supercharge bypass valve hose.

9. Remove three charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter retaining bolts and slide charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter from supercharger bypass valve hose to remove.


INSTALLATION
1. Clean and inspect gasket surfaces and install gasket on intake manifold.

2. Slide charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter into supercharger bypass valve hose. Align mark on hose with rib on charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter. Tighten clamps to 2.3-3.4 Nm (20-30 lb in).

3. Position charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter and gasket. Install three retaining bolts. Tighten to 26-38 Nm (20-28 lb ft).

4. Install charge air cooler inlet and charge air cooler outlet tubes.

5. Connect vacuum lines to charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter.

6. Connect electrical connection at intake air temperature sensor.

7. Install EGR transducer.

8. Install cowl vent screens.

9. Start engine and check for proper operation and leaks using propane.
