Mini-Sealing Procedure
Charge Air Cooler Tube ConnectionsFor leaks at joint between charge air cooler and inlet or outlet tube:
- Slightly loosen nut retaining charge air cooler inlet tube to alternator-power steering pump bracket.
- Tighten nuts at charge air cooler flanges to 20-3O Nm (15-22 ft lb).
- Tighten nut at alternator-power steering pump bracket to 40-55 Nm (3O-40 ft lb).
- Recheck all joints with propane.
Supercharger Outlet Plenum/Inlet Tube Connection
For leak(s) at supercharger outlet adapter collar and charge air cooler inlet tube joint:
- Slightly loosen nut retaining charge air cooler inlet tube to alternator-power steering pump bracket.
- Tighten collar to 200 Nm (148 ft lb).
- Wait 10 minutes minimum and retighten collar to 200 Nm (148 ft lb).
NOTE: When compressed, the sealant tape flows and forms to the sealing surface. If the "collar" is not retorqued, the torque of the "collar" will drop causing a leak at this joint.
- Tighten nut at alternator-power steering pump bracket to 40-55 Nm (30-40 ft lb).
- Recheck all joints with propane.
Charge Air Cooler to Intake Manifold Adapter/Outlet Tube Connection
For leak(s) at charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter to charge air cooler outlet tube joint:
- Slightly loosen nut retaining charge air cooler outlet tube to alternator-power steering pump bracket.
- Loosen bolt retaining charge air cooler outlet tube to charge air cooler tube bracket.
- Tighten nuts at charge air cooler to intake manifold adapter to 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft lb).
- Tighten nut at alternator/power steering pump bracket to 40-55 Nm (30-40 ft lb).
- Tighten bolt retaining charge air cooler outlet tube to charge air cooler tube bracket to 40-55 Nm (30-40 ft lb).
- Recheck all joints with propane.
