KL23 - Check SIL Circuit For Short to Ground

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Key "ON", engine "OFF".

- Is the Shift Indicator Light (SIL) "ON" with the PCM disconnected?

Yes -- Service short to ground between SIL bulb and PCM. Reconnect PCM. Re-evaluate symptom.

No -- Replace PCM. Re-evaluate symptom.
