Ignition System: Tools and Equipment

Equipment (Recommended)
Obtain the following test equipment or an equivalent:
- Ignition Intermittent Analyzer, Rotunda 007-00075 or equivalent.
- Spark Tester, Neon bulb type (Special Service Tool D89P-6666-A).
- Volt-Ohmmeter (Rotunda 007-00001,105-00050, 105-00051,105-00052, 105-000GV53 or Scan Tool 007-005500).
- Remote starter switch.
- EEC Breakout Box (Special Service Tool T83L-50-EEC-IV).
- Spark Tester, Gap type (Special Service Tool D81P-6666-A). A spark plug with a broken side electrode is not sufficient to check for spark and may lead to incorrect results.
- Inductive Timing Light (Rotunda 059-00014). Do not use "advance knob" if timing light has one, it will not work correctly with El (Low Data Rate) Ignition System.
- Tachometer Adapter (Rotunda 007-00061) EI compatible.
- 12 Volt Test Lamp (Incandescent).
