EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection

EGR Valve:

^ Clean dirt or other deposits from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.
^ Start the engine and run it at idle.
^ Connect a vacuum pump as shown and apply vacuum.
^ Verify that the engine runs roughly or stalls at more than 5.4-7.7 kPa (40-60 mm Hg, 1.6-2.3 in Hg).
^ If not as specified, replace the EGR valve.
