Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Inspection and Verification
1. Verify the customer's original concern by operating the cigar lighter to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

Mechanical
- Damaged cigar lighter knob and element.
- Damaged cigar lighter socket and retainer.

Electrical
- Blown fuse
- circuitry open/shorted.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concerns that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concerns remain after the inspection, determine the symptoms and Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
