Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
RemovalNOTE: If the A/C condenser core is replaced, it will be necessary to replace the suction accumulator/drier.
NOTE: If a condenser leak is suspected, leak test the A/C condenser core before removing it from the vehicle.
1. Discharge the A/C system system into an approved recovery device.
2. Remove the radiator.
3. Remove the radiator grille screw.
4. Squeeze and release the five locking clips and remove the radiator grille.
5. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the A/C condenser core. Use an appropriate spring lock coupling disconnect tool.Discard the 0-rings.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent the entrance of dirt and moisture.
6. Remove the A/C condenser core nuts from the A/C condenser mounting bracket.
7. Remove the A/C condenser core.
Installation
1. Position the A/C condenser core and install the A/C condenser mounting bracket nuts.
2. Use new 0-rings lubricated with clean refrigerant oil and connect the refrigerant lines to the A/C condenser core.
3. Install the radiator grille and the radiator grille screw.
4. Install the radiator and fill the cooling system.
5. Leak test, evacuate, and charge the A/C system.
