Subject:
Safety Recall 95S24 - Certain 1995 Model Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis - Headlamp Circuit Breaker Location

Affected Vehicles
All 1995 Model Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis built from Job # 1 through November 3, 1994

Reasons For Recall
On some of these cars, the power window and headlamp circuit breakers may not have been installed in the proper locations. If the non-cycling power window circuit breaker is installed in the headlamp circuit and an electrical short or overload develops, the headlamps could go off without warning and remain off until the circuit breaker is recycled by turning the headlamp switch off and back on or by removing the power through some other means. If the headlamps were to go off while the car is being driven at night, an accident may result.

To correct this condition, dealers are to inspect the fuse panel to determine if the circuit breakers are in the proper positions. If not, the two affected circuit breakers are to be removed and correctly reinstalled. See Attachment III for Technical Instructions.
