Accelerator Cable

REMOVAL

1. Remove air intake duct assembly.

2. Remove cable snap-in nylon bushing from pedal arm.

3. Remove the body insulation retainer from the cable housing. The retainer is located inside the vehicle where the housing passes through the dash panel into the passenger compartment.

4. Disconnect accelerator cable at the throttle body throttle lever by rotating the throttle lever to the wide open throttle position and slide cable through slot in cam.

5. Remove cable housing to engine mounting bracket retaining screw.

6. Remove cable housing to dash panel retaining nuts, wiper module support bracket and housing.

INSTALLATION

1. Insert pedal end of cable, with cover in place, through dash panel. Install the retaining screws.

2. Position cable housing in engine mounting bracket. Install the retaining screw.

3. Connect cable to throttle body lever.

4. Install the body insulation retainer on the cable housing. Ensure the retainer is pushed onto the housing at least 6.35 mm (1/4 inch).

5. Press the nylon bushing on the accelerator cable into the accelerator pedal arm.

6. Ensure the body insulation is properly positioned and not in contact with moving member of accelerator cable.

7. Install air duct assembly.
