Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters
Typical Values:
NOTE: The battery voltage was 14.8 volts DC when these readings were taken.
^ Voltage readings are typical for a normal vehicle with EI (Low Data Rate) Diagnostic harness attached. Do not use a "true RMS" type A/C voltmeter such as the Fluke 8060a or 87.
^ The CID and PIP signals may be "high" (greater than 8 volts DC) or "low" with KOEO depending on whether or not a tooth is in the air gap of the sensor.
^ If the SPOUT jumper is removed, PIP will be fed through the ICM and appear on the SPOUT Test Jack J36 of the ICM.
^ If a "true RMS" DVOM (Fluke 87) is used instead of the required "averaging" type DVOM (Rotunda 007-0001 or Fluke 88, 75, etc.) the value obtained will be significantly different in some cases than the values used in these Pinpoint Tests, resulting in incorrect answers to the pinpoint questions.
^ Reset should be high only when the key is in the start (crank) position.
