Removal and Replacement

Idle Air Control Solenoid:






REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect electrical connector from Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.

3. Remove the two IAC valve retaining screws.

4. Remove the IAC valve and gasket.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Idle air control valve retaining screws also attach the secondary air injection bypass spacer (9H314) to the intake manifold. Ensure that the secondary air injection bypass spacer and both gaskets are properly aligned upon installation.

1. To install, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten IAC valve retaining screws to 9.5 Nm (7 ft lb).

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
