Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Drain cooling system, then disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect electrical connectors and vacuum lines from intake assembly, then remove air cleaner tube, then disconnect coolant lines and cables from throttle body.
4. Remove upper intake attaching bolts and upper intake brackets, then loosen four lower bolts and remove brackets.

5. Remove 12 intake manifold attaching bolts.
6. Remove intake assembly and gaskets.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Intake gasket is reuseable.
b. Torque 12 manifold retaining bolts to 11-16 ft lb.

Upper Intake Manifold:

c. When installing manifold brackets, bracket with stud must be installed in same location from which it was removed.
