46 - LH Crash Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly

Electrical Schematic:

Normal Operation
The air bag diagnostic monitor measures the resistance between pin 22 (circuit 934 "BR") and pin 3 (air bag diagnostic monitor reference ground). If the air bag diagnostic monitor measures a difference of more than 2.0 ohms between pin 22 and pin 3, it will flash a code 46.

NOTE: Circuit 934 ("BR") is attached to the side of the LH front air bag sensor case. In addition, the case is grounded to the vehicle.

Possible Causes
High resistance on pin 22 (circuit 934 "BR") to ground can be cause by:
1. A poor connection due to loose mounting, dirt or corrosion at the LH front air bag sensor mounting location.
2. An open or damaged wire in circuit 934 ("BR") from pin 22 of the air bag diagnostic monitor harness connector to the LH front air bag sensor.
3. An open wire or loose "BR" wire attachment inside LH front air bag sensor.
