IGN13 - Check Ignition Coil Resistance

^ Disconnect the wire(s) from the ignition coil.

Coil Resistance Test:

^ Measure ignition coil resistance:

Primary: Positive to Negative 0.58-0.86 Ohms

Secondary: Positive to High Voltage 1.15k-18.5k Ohms

NOTE: Refer to image for Ohmmeter hookups.

^ Are the resistance readings within specifications?

YES -- Go to Computers and Control Systems / System Diagnosis / Diagnostic Charts (Pinpoint Tests) / ICM - Ignition Control Module.

NO -- Replace the distributor.
