Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

WARNING: Before servicing or replacing any components in the fuel system, reduce the possibility of injury or fire, refer to Service Precautions.

Fuel Pressure Test Setup:

^ After releasing the fuel pressure, install Rotunda Fuel Pressure Tester 014-00748 or equivalent with EFI Test Adapter D87C-9974-A in the fuel line between the fuel rails, with its main valve open and its drain valve closed.

Fuel Pump Test Connector:

^ Jump the fuel pump test terminal to ground.

^ Key On.

Specifications:

Key On Engine Off 270-310 kPa (39-45 PSI)

Key On Engine Running (Idle Speed) 207-248 kPa (30-36 PSI)

NOTE: Maximum fuel pressure is obtainable with the vacuum hose removed from the fuel pressure regulator or at Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
