EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection
1. Clean dirt or other deposits from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.2. Start the engine and run it at idle.
EGR Valve Vacuum Test:
3. Connect a Rotunda Vacuum Tester 021-00037 or equivalent and apply vacuum.
4. Verify that the engine runs roughly or stalls at more than 5.4-7.7 kPa (40-60 mm Hg, 1.6-2.3 in Hg).
5. If not as specified, replace the EGR valve.
