Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. Remove instrument cluster from vehicle, then remove fuel gauge from cluster.
2. Apply 12 volts to fuel gauge "+" terminal and ground the "-" terminal.
3. Connect one lead of Rotunda instrument gauge system tester 012-00055, or equivalent, to fuel gauge "F" terminal, and other lead to gauge "-" terminal.

4. Adjust instrument gauge system tester to resistances shown.
5. If fuel gauge does not operate as specified, replace gauge. If gauge operates as specified, refer to pinpoint test. Pinpoint Tests
