Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube from throttle body.

2. Disconnect accelerator cable at throttle body.

3. Disconnect fuel charging wiring connectors from the Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.

4. Remove four throttle body nuts.

5. Carefully separate throttle body from upper intake manifold.

6. Remove and discard throttle body gasket.


INSTALLATION

1. Clean gasket mating surfaces.

NOTE: If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage gasket surfaces or allow material to drop into manifold.

2. Install throttle body with new gasket on the four studs of the EGR spacer. Tighten attaching nuts to 16-24 Nm (12-18 lb ft).

3. Connect fuel charging wiring connectors to the TP sensor and IAC valve.

4. Connect accelerator cable to throttle body.

5. Install air cleaner outlet tube.
