Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair

REMOVAL and INSTALLATION

1. Using a suitable tool, push the accelerator cable nylon bushing out of the accelerator pedal and shaft arm.

2. Remove the two accelerator pedal and shaft assembly retaining nuts.

3. If replacing the accelerator pedal and shaft assembly and if the vehicle is equipped with a pedal pad trim cover, uncrimp the pedal pad cover and remove from the accelerator pedal and shaft.

4. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten accelerator pedal and shaft assembly nuts to 14.8-20.2 Nm (11.0-15.0 lb ft) and ensure accelerator pedal and shaft has no restrictions.
