JC56 - Check C1 at Coil Connector While Cranking Engine

- Connect EI diagnostic harness positive lead to battery.

- Connect an incandescent test lamp between J1 (B+) and J3 (RC1C).

- Crank engine.

- Does lamp blink consistently and brightly (one blink per engine revolution)?

YES -- GO to JC57. JC57 - Check C2 at Coil Connector While Cranking Engine

NO -- REPLACE ICM. C1 is open. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
