Glove Compartment Lock: Service and Repair


Removal
1. Insert key in ignition switch lock cylinder and rotate ignition switch lock cylinder approximately 45 degrees from the UNLOCK position.

NOTE: If key is not available, use a small screwdriver to depress lock tumblers from rear and rotate ignition switch lock cylinder.

2. Apply pressure to outside of ignition switch lock cylinder and pry two retaining tabs away from ignition switch lock cylinder to release.
3. After releasing retaining tabs, pull ignition switch lock cylinder outward approximately 1 10mm (3/8 inch). Rotate ignition switch lock cylinder to UNLOCK position and remove key.
4. Remove ignition switch lock cylinder from glove compartment door latch.

Installation
1. Position ignition switch lock cylinder into glove compartment door latch rotated approximately 45 degrees from UNLOCK position.
2. Push ignition switch lock cylinder in all the way until retaining tabs snap into place.
3. Rotate ignition switch lock cylinder to UNLOCK position.
