Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

Removal

NOTE: If the A/C condenser core is replaced, it will be necessary to replace the suction accumulator/drier.

NOTE: If a condenser leak is suspected, leak test the A/C condenser core before removing it from the vehicle.

1. Discharge the A/C system system into an approved recovery device.
2. Remove the radiator.
3. Remove the radiator grille.

CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent the entrance of dirt and moisture.

4. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the A/C condenser core. Use an appropriate spring lock coupling tool. Discard the 0-rings.
5. Remove the A/C condenser core nuts from the A/C condenser mounting bracket.
6. Remove the A/C condenser core.

Installation

1. Position the A/C condenser core and install the A/C condenser mounting bracket nuts.
2. Use new 0-rings lubricated with clean refrigerant oil and connect the refrigerant lines to the A/C condenser core.
3. Install the radiator grille.
4. Install the radiator and fill the cooling system.
5. Leak test, evacuate, and charge the A/C system.
