Ignition Lock: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering wheel, combination switch and ignition switch.

3. Using suitable locking pliers, remove attaching screws, then the mounting cap and lock housing from steering column jacket.

INSTALLATION
1. Position lock housing on steering column jacket, then install mounting cap and new attaching screws. Tighten screws only enough to hold lock housing in position on column jacket.
2. Turn lock mechanism with ignition key to verify correct operation of lock. If lock binds, reposition on jacket slightly until mechanism functions properly.
3. Tighten attaching screws until heads break off, then reinstall all removed parts to complete installation.
