Windows: Description and Operation
OPERATION FROM THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCHWith the Ignition Switch in "RUN", voltage is present at the Master Window Control Switch through the POWER WINDOWS Fuse.
Moving the Left Window Switch portion of the Master Window Control Switch to the "DOWN" position causes current to flow through the POWER WINDOWS Fuse, one set of left Front Switch contacts, circuit 317 (R/BL), the Left Power Window Motor, circuit 318 (GN), and a second set of left Front Switch contacts to ground. The Left Power Window Motor runs and the window glass lowers.
Moving the switch to the "UP" position causes current to flow through the Left Front Window Motor in the opposite direction. The Motor runs in the opposite direction and the window glass rises.
When the Left Front Switch is in the "NEUTRAL" position, both Motor wires are grounded through the Master Window Control Switch.
OPERATION FROM THE RIGHT WINDOW SWITCHES
Operation of the Right Power Window from the Right Window Switch is similar to operation from the Master Window Control Switch; however, the right window switch receives power directly through circuit 43 (BK/R) and the POWER WINDOWS Fuse. The Right Window Switch grounds the Right Power Window Motor Circuit through the Master Window Control Switch.
