Variable Induction System: Description and Operation

Variable Resonance Induction System:

PURPOSE
Variable Resonance Induction System (VRIS) improves air charging efficiency and torque characteristics for increased engine performance.

OPERATION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the shutter valves using two solenoids. Three solenoid operated shutter valves are installed in the dynamic chamber of the VRIS. The VRIS opens and closes the shutter valves according to the engine speed and throttle opening angle.
