Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Loosen the hood release cable nut and remove the hood release cable from the lower instrument panel cover.
3. Remove the lower instrument panel cover screw. Remove the courtesy lamp bulb from the lower instrument panel cover. Remove the lower instrument panel cover.





4. Remove the four lower steering column panel screws.
5. Separate the upper and lower steering column panels.
6. Remove the ignition switch illumination bulb from the lower steering column panel. Remove the upper and lower steering column panels.





7. Remove the two upper steering column bolts and lower the steering column.
8. Remove the instrument cluster.
9. Remove the glove compartment.
10. Remove the two hush panel screws. Remove the courtesy lamp bulb from the hush panel. Remove the hush panel.
11. Remove the floor console.
12. Remove the climate control assembly.





13. Remove the two side instrument panel covers.





14. Remove the four side instrument panel bolts.
15. Remove the upper instrument panel bolt.





16. Remove the four lower instrument panel bolts.
17. Remove the A-pillar trim.
18. Tip the instrument panel forward and disconnect the necessary electrical connectors.
19. Remove the instrument panel.

Installation
To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the upper and side instrument panel bolts to 5-11 Nm (6-8 lb-ft). Tighten the lower instrument panel bolts to 19-25 Nm (14-19 lb-ft).
