Center Air Bag Sensor
RemovalWARNING: THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY MUST BE DEPLETED BEFORE ANY AIR BAG COMPONENT SERVICE IS PERFORMED. TO DEPLETE THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY, DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE AND WAIT ONE MINUTE.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait one minute for the backup power supply energy to be depleted.
2. Remove the five airflow shield screws.
3. Remove the airflow shield covering the center radiator crash sensor.
4. Remove the two center radiator crash sensor bolts.
5. Disconnect the center radiator crash sensor electrical connector as follows:
- press the orange knob and disconnect the orange connector.
- press the blue knob and disconnect the blue connector.
6. Remove the center radiator crash sensor from the vehicle.
Installation
1. Position the center radiator crash sensor with the arrow on top pointing toward the front of the vehicle and install the two bolts. Tighten the two center radiator crash sensor bolts to 9-12 Nm (79-112 lb-in).
2. Connect the center radiator crash sensor electrical connector.
3. Install the airflow shield covering the center radiator crash sensor. Install the five airflow shield screws.
4. Connect the battery negative cable.
5. Verify that the air bag lamp is operative.
