IGNA21 - Check For IGN GND at PIP Sensor

^ Connect diagnostic cable PIP sensor tee to PIP sensor and vehicle harness.

^ Measure resistance between Pin 35 (IGN GND) and Pin 7 (BAT-).

^ Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?


YES -- Service IGN GND between PCM and PIP sensor in harness for open. Remove all test equipment. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Rerun quick test.

NO -- Service IGN GND wire or replace distributor. IGN GND open in PIP sensor. Remove all test equipment. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Rerun quick test.
