Removal

WARNING: THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT NECESSARY FOR SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT IS POWERED DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY. TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE MUST BE DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO SERVICING OR REPLACING ANY SYSTEM COMPONENTS.

1. Disconnect positive battery cable.
2. Remove rear seat cushion.
3. Remove quarter panel trim panel.
4. Remove two screws retaining rear sensor to B-pillar.
5. Remove rear sensor from inside B-pillar.
6. Disconnect the rear sensor wiring connector from wiring assembly connector and remove sensor.





Installation
1. Connect rear sensor wiring connector to wiring assembly connector.
2. Position sensor to inside of B-pillar. Install retaining screws. Tighten to 10.2-13.8 Nm (90-122 lb-in).
3. Connect sensor electrical connector.
4. Install quarter panel trim panel. Install rear seat cushion.
5. Connect positive battery cable.
6. Verify air bag indicator.
