Front Center Sensor
RemovalWARNING: THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT NECESSARY FOR SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT IS POWERED DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY. TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE MUST BE DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO SERVICING OR REPLACING ANY SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
NOTE: To service stripped center sensor retaining screws, replace screw using an 8 mm screw, Part No. N802455-S190. Tighten to 13-17 Nm (10-12 lb-ft).
1. Disconnect positive battery cable.
2. Loosen fascia and radiator. Loosen condenser, if equipped.
3. Remove air cleaner assembly.
4. Disconnect center front sensor electrical connector and disconnect wiring retainer.
5. Remove three screws retaining center front sensor to radiator. Remove sensor from vehicle.
Installation
1. Position front center sensor with arrow on top pointing toward front of vehicle and secure to radiator support with four retaining screws. Tighten screws to 9-12 Nm (80-106 lb-in).
2. Connect front center sensor wire lead connector to wiring assembly connector and connect wiring retainer.
3. Install condenser if equipped. Install radiator and fascia retaining fasteners.
4. Install air cleaner assembly.
5. Connect positive battery cable.
6. Verify air bag indicator.
